I agree that suffering is in the world because of Adam's sin. Maybe if he had known that this one act would have caused so much suffering generation to generation he would not have done it. Before he sinned there was no suffering.

Suffering...
by tall penguin inas j.w.s we were taught that life wasnt supposed to be about suffering.
life was supposed to be about joy and bliss and everlasting life.
if it werent for adam and eve and satan, all would be well.

Christianity after Nietzsche.
by Narkissos inmost of us are familiar with, or at least have heard of, friedrich nietzsche's virulent criticism of christianity: according to nietzsche the belief in, and desire for, "another (higher or future) world" and "eternal life" betrays a hatred of this world and real life, of power and beauty, of the animal and the "body," a "slave morality" which essentially consists in "resentment" against everything real, powerful, beautiful, etc.
christian "spirituality" is shameful "nihilism," nihilism in disguise, the central emblem of which is the cross, understood as the very negation of life, with the "will of power" and the cruel beauty it is made of.
nietzsche lumps together christianity and anarchism as expressions of the same basic rejection of reality.

Christianity will remain the same. The world is always opposite to what the Bible says. If God said run the world would say walk. Go figure.

Criticism worthy of your time
by johnnyc inas i read posts throughout this site, i became amazed at some of the criticism people have actually spent time creating, reading (as i did), and responding to.
dont get me wrong, some of what i read are good issues that seem worthy (to me) of discussion, but to be honest, i find that 90% of the posts are based on ridiculous petty topics that are obviously tied to a sense of deep hatred of the wtbts.
i can appreciate that some of the people who leave such post, and have this hatred, are taking their time to discuss such things as part of a therapeutic process to combat the fact they spent a large portion of their life dedicated to an organization they feel abandoned them at some point.

I think this board is very helpful for those that find it. I wish it was advertised on huge billboards so that others that feel the way we do could voice their opinions also. This board is full of useful information. Some views are extreme but so what, thats what makes the world.

Being told that "Not all people will die at Armageddon"
by Robert7 inmy wife, who while still (at least partially) in, is an open thinker, agrees with me for the most part, and has made a recent observation... .
she brings up with her friends how it's difficult to believe that all non-jws, over 6 billion will die at armageddon.
plus will die becuase they didn't accept some magazine.

in any relationship you want to have someone that is compatible with you. When it comes to religion it is best to find someone that is the same as you. The Bible says to marry only in the Lord. God knows what he is talking about. If you are a christian make sure you marry someone that is one too. Jw claim to be christians but they are a diffrent kind then the mainstream christians. The behaviors you have described of your fiance sounds like he has studied with jw before but maybe not baptised into the religion. He does not sound like he has an open mind and that mess with your child is a no no. No one should be allowed to come between a child and their parent. you need to evaluate this man's importance in your life. is it worth it cause it sounds like drama to me.

you mentioned one of my favorite new songs, well new to me- Open The Eyes Of My Heart Lord. At my church we have the screens that show the lyrics to the songs and those are some awesome lyrics to those songs! These songs are so emotional to me i cry everytime we sing them. I tell myself everytime im not gonna cry but now im just gonna take some tissue with me because i can't help it. I've missed so much. Praising God is a wonderful thing.

Looking for some insights and opinions
by Tired of the Hypocrisy infirst off, good evening all.
i have been having some weird stuff happen to me over the past couple of months and am wondering if anyone else has been through it or may have an idea as to why it may be happening.
i have my own theory, but want to hear other opinions before i make up my mind on how to deal with this situation.. as i have written on this board before, i am fading, inactive, married to an inactive wife who has a rabid jw family.

try a non-denominational church. The one i go to dosent pressure you into doing anything. you go there on Sunday, sing praise songs to God. listen to the preacher preach from the Bible( make sure they use the Bible a lot) pray, then leave. they have different ministries you may join.at my church there are over 40. we have a weds night fusion group where we get together at 7pm sing until about 7:10. then listen to a sermon until 8pm then branch off into groups and discuss different topics until 8:45. we help each other if they have problems, pray for each other and show each other scripture pertaining to our situation. It is a very loving and caring environment.
you are going to have to try different things to see what suits your beliefs. do a little at a time you'll get there.
